Do you need a high quality and hard-wearing surface suitable for either interior or exterior use? Granolithic screed incorporates hard aggregates, cement, sand, water and sometimes polymers to create an extremely tough and durable surface.
We often recommend a granolithic screed for outside surfaces and walkways but it can also be ideal for warehouses and factory flooring where traffic is heavy and constant.
How do you recognise a good granolithic screed?
Granolithic screeds consist of a blend of materials, all with their own curing properties. To ensure your outside or industrial flooring is fit for purpose, the quality of the mix has to be high.
For example, a well-graded screed will contain rocks of similar sizes, minimising gaps and ensuring maximum strength. The quality of the bond between the screed and the substrate (original surface) is also vital for durability and can be enhanced with the addition of polymers.
Why work with Surface Systems?
As a long-established specialist industrial flooring company, we have the skill and experience to ensure your floor will perform as expected. This requires careful product sourcing and effective consultation to discover your business needs. We have access to products from a wide range of top suppliers of granolithic screed so are not tied to a specific system.
It is also vital that the substrate is thoroughly cleaned and prepared prior to installation to avoid delamination – the separation of the wearing surface from the substrate.
Deciding on the type of finish you want is also important, especially if your flooring is in a public area.
With experience of installing granolithic screed systems for a wide range of clients, Surface Systems are your regional specialists for commercial and industrial flooring.
